Angelos gained notoriety when, in 2003, he was sentenced to 55 years in federal prison for selling cannabis to a confidential informant. In December of 2020, Angelos was pardoned by President Trump.
Since then, he has rallied both conservative and liberal politicians, celebrities, and entrepreneurs and focused his energy on The Weldon Project, a non-profit that tries to "raise the bar for awareness, social justice, and social equity by providing unique ways for cannabis businesses and consumers to participate in a nationwide campaign to provide relief to those who have been negatively impacted by prohibition."
This 18-minute episode digs into the history of Angelos, exploring how he was convicted and his current focus on raising awareness for the plights of those like him who are imprisoned for sometimes decades for non-violent cannabis offenses.
