C3 Podcast No. 6: Endocannabinoid System of Animals

In No. 6 of the C3 Podcast, host Curt Robbins from Higher Learning LV and co-hosts John Bailey from the Mindset Genesis and Dena Putnam from Leafwize Naturals are joined by guest John Carver to discuss the endocannabinoid system (ECS) as it appears in common pets such as cats, dogs, and horses. The episode explains how the ECS appears not only in all mammals, but in all vertebrates and appears in crude form even in some invertebrates.

Guest John Carver explains how his mother's dog gained such efficacy from a cannabidiol (CBD) supplement that his mother decided to begin taking CBD for her own health challenges. Listeners learn how dogs are more sensitive to delta-9 THC than cats and how they can suffer a condition called static ataxia if they receive too much THC.

The Higher Learning LV Study Summary discussed noted that emergency room and veterinary visits from static ataxia have increased in states where medical or adult-use cannabis has been legalized—indicating a need for more diligence on the part of cannabis-consuming pet owners.
