A 2023 study entitled "The Effect of Cannabis Plant Extracts on Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma and the Quest for Cannabis-Based Personalized Therapy" that was published in the journal Cancers tested the effects of a range of cannabis extracts on head and neck squamous cell carcinoma. The research, which was conducted in Israel, noted the anti-tumor activity and mode of action of these cannabis extracts, including their impact on non-cancerous cells and their overall safety profile. The study also investigated the role of endocannabinoid system receptors in these mechanisms.
